LIBERTY STATE PARK, NJ
If you follow my Instagram, you probably saw some pictures from the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic over the weekend. Billy and I thought it would be a good year to check out the event since we don’t know where we will be living this time next year. The forecast was questionable all week, but it ended up being a perfect kickoff to summer!
We arrived right at the beginning and were able to get a good spot next to the field. We made friends with a couple of seasoned event veterans that told us what to expect and warned us that it was going to get crazy crowded. The match itself consisted of 4 chukkas (periods of play) with a halftime break that gave spectators a chance to go out on the field to socialize and do some divot stamping.
I chose a midi dress because I knew I would be sitting on the ground. I love blue and white porcelain print so I needed this dress as soon as I saw it! Billy chose a seersucker jacket because it would be more breathable than other jackets. We didn’t coordinate our red accents, but I suspect that’s what happens when you’re together forever because we are unintentionally matchy matchy more often than I’d like to admit.
I love champagne and everything preppy so this event has been on my bucketlist and it did not disappoint! It was a great day of polo, champagne, and people watching. We would definitely do it again!
