If you follow my Instagram, you might have seen some snaps from NYC recently. My brother was doing a rotation for medical school in the city, so I went to hang out with him on one of his days off. One of the best things about moving to Pennsylvania has been how easy it is to get to Manhattan, even for just the day!
We started the day at Ralph’s Coffee on the second floor of the Ralph Lauren flagship store. Then we headed to my brother’s favorite museum, the American Museum of Natural History, to see the dinosaurs and the Easter Island Head featured in the movie Night at the Museum.
After the museum, we grabbed a couple hotdogs outside and also some Korean style sushi at Woorijip, a grab and go type restaurant. We walked off some of the food on The High Line. The High Line is a public park/elevated walk way on the westside of Manhattan. It’s a great place to hang out with lots of overlooks and places to sit down. We hopped off a little early to feed both my brother and my gelato addiction at Amorino before meeting some friends for wings at Red Star.
So technically I spent a day and a half in the city. The next day, I had some time before I needed to catch the bus so I decided to head over to The Bagel Store in Williamsburg to see what these rainbow bagels are all about. They are pretty pricey for bagels at $3.95 each (+ a couple more for cream cheese), but worth it for the novelty. Don’t forget to take a picture before you take a bite!
Afterwards, I washed down my bagel with a cascara fizz from Blue Bottle Coffee and also an iced matcha from MatchaBar. That’s right, I got two different teas within 10 minutes of each other. I couldn’t decide so I got both. I guess that’s one of the perks of being an adult! From there, I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, watched a guy flip over 5 people, and headed back to the bus station.
See you again soon, NYC!
