Life + Style + Travel

This week’s look is borrowed from the boys. For real though, these are Billy’s sunglasses. Plaid is almost synonymous with fall, but this year in addition to the usual bright tartans and buffalo checks, more subtle plaids like glen plaid have stepped into the spotlight – mainly in the form of oversized blazers. These plaid blazers are the easiest way to update your autumn wardrobe because they can be dressed up for work and dressed down for the weekends. This one is from Target for only $35! I was going to go head to toe menswear inspired and wear a pair of loafers, but then I remembered these booties. These embroidered booties were my favorites last winter and they are back in stock!

I wore this outfit over the weekend while I did some exploring around town. Billy is studying for yet another big exam (it never ends!) so we’ve been spending most of our Sundays at coffee shops. Unlike Billy, I usually only do work for half the day and then do some wandering for the other half. Most recently, I went to the National Archives (home to the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights) and the National Gallery of Art. Pro tip: The Gallery has free concerts on Sundays!
